GTAP Data Bases: GTAP 11 Data Base Issues
If you have encountered an issue with the GTAP 11 Data Base which you would like addressed, please email a detailed account to the Data Team. Below is an ongoing list of issues reported regarding GTAP 11.
Current Known Issues
GTAP Data Base version 11a addressed the following:
- Ilan Salbe reported an issue with the trade data, particularly non-metallic minerals which have been mis-allocated. The HS6-GTAP concordances have been corrected thereby resulting in revisions to input trade data.
- Maksym Chepeliev reported significant own-input use in agricultural sectors for selected countries. This has been fixed.
GTAP Data Base version 11b addressed the following:
- Xavier Pichot reported an issue with tariff data in 2017 that resulted an overestimation of tariffs in several sectors such as other manufactures (omf) and other crops (ocr). The issue has been resolved in this release.
- We also recognized that a few of the countries’ Input-Output tables that were updated in the closed interim release 10.1, were not considered in GTAP 11. The following are now updated: Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Iran, Mexico, Mongolia, New Zealand, Paraguay.
- Also, in this release we address a country mapping mix-up between Haiti and one of the countries in Rest of Caribbean.
- Following the feedback by Chris Böhringer and Tom Rutherford we have improved the redistribution of the CO2 emissions from non-combustion energy use.
- Finally, some minor corrections to the FlexAgg distributions affecting the conversion from v7 to v6 data format first identified by Maros Ivanic.
GTAP Data Base version 11c is now available and addresses the following issues:
- Capital stock information is based on data from the International Monetary Fund, previously based on Penn World Tables data.
- Depreciation and Savings have been recalibrated for consistency.
