Biography
Dimitris Skuras is professor at the Department of Economics of the University of Patras. He holds a B.Sc from the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki in Greece (1985), an M.Sc (1986) and a Ph.D (1990) in Economic geography from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland and a post-graduate Diploma (1992) in Data Analysis from the University of Essex in England. His main interests are in agricultural, rural and regional development and environmental policy in rural areas. His work has appeared in journals such as Economic Geography, Land Economics, Journal of Regional Science, Journal of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Rural Studies, Agricultural Economics, Food Policy, Regional Studies, Urban Studies, Ecological Economics, Journal of Environmental Management, and others. He has participated or coordinated a number of research projects funded by the EU, the Greek state, the OECD and other organizations or research centres. He uses the GAMS, R and python languages and the Stata, LIMDEP, SPSS and ArcGIS packages. His profile can be accessed in Google Scholar and ResearchGate.
