This page lists the GTAP Research Fellow Hall of Fame members, their contributions, and the year of their award. Individuals are inducted into the GTAP Research Fellow Hall of Fame in recognition of their significant and continuing contributions to the development of GTAP through:- contributions to the GTAP Data Base
- contributions to the development of GTAP Models and software,
- outstanding research using the GTAP Data Base and/or models, or
- contributions in advancing the use of GTAP and broadening the GTAP Network.
2024 Inductee
- Joseph Francois - Joe has always thrived at the interface of policy analysis and economic theory, has extensive experience in both academia as well as the public sector, and brings a unique perspective to both of these communities. Joe has a nose for where the next policy debate will emerge and can modify his toolkit to address that issue in a meaningful and influential way. Whether it was NAFTA, the Uruguay Round, Eastern Enlargement of the EU, the liberalization of services trade, or now ? the economics of outer space -- he has always been at the cutting edge of the most important topics in international trade. For the many years of active involvement in the GTAP Network and his important and sustained contributions to GTAP, Joe Francois has been inducted into the GTAP Hall of Fame.
2023 Inductee
- Lionel Fontagné - For sustained contributions to the GTAP Network which have emphasized the measurement of border protection and the use of CGE analysis to address key trade policy issues.
- Marijke Kuiper - For outstanding leadership and innovative economics research using the GTAP Data Base and her methodological contributions to addressing trade data issues.
2020 Inductee
- Kenichi Kawasaki - For outstanding leadership in the development of the GTAP community across the Asia-Pacific Rim, as well as his contributions to cutting edge analysis of global trade policy issues.
2018 Inductee
- Mary Burfisher - For her outstanding development, leadership, and support of GTAP educational and mentoring programs.
2016 Inductee
- Will Martin - For his vibrant and brilliant advocacy of global CGE analysis in the fields of agricultural trade policy and development as well as his support of the GTAP community, the shared data base and the network. The committee also wishes to recognize his impressive academic record, as well as his continuing efforts to engage and educate policy makers on key issues in the trade and development arena.
2015 Inductees
- Peter Dixon - For his intellectual leadership in CGE modeling methodologies, including comparative static, single country models, CGE model-based forecasting and the analysis of firm heterogeneity.
- Terrie Walmsley - For leading the GTAP Network for a decade during which the range of Center activities as well as the network grew rapidly, along with seminal contributions to CGE analysis of migration and long-run baselines.
2011 Inductee
- Dominique van der Mensbrugghe - In recognition of his sustained contributions to the GTAP Data Base and in advancing economy-wide analysis of developing country policies with the Linkage model.
2007 Inductees
- Mark Gehlhar - For the development of GTAP trade data set, and the development of backcasting methodology.
- Mark Horridge - In recognition of his development of innovative new software and tools for implementation and analysis of GTAP data and simulations.
- Ken Pearson - For the development of GTAP software, and for teaching GTAP short courses.
- Thomas Rutherford - In recognition of his development of GAMS-based software and modeling capabilities suitable for GTAP users.
- Marinos Tsigas - For the development of GTAP Model and Data Base, and support of many GTAP applications.
