"GTAP 7 Data Base Documentation - Chapter 10.G: EU Domestic Support Data for GTAP 7.1 Data Base" by Jensen, Hans Grinsted Abstract The purpose of this chapter is to document how domestic support levels for the EU are calculated from the OECD Producer Support Estimate (PSE) and incorporated into the GTAP 7 Data Base. The OECD PSE currently includes information about 17 countries’ domestic support levels but treats the EU as a single country, whereas the GTAP 7 Data Base has 25 individual member states specified. This is unfortunate and would be misleading if average EU rates of domestic support levels were incorporated into the GTAP Data Base for all member states. Therefore the work of disaggregating the OECD’s PSE table by member state has been undertaken, documenting where different Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) payments are allocated in the data base. This information is essential if one wants to model the CAP using the GTAP Data Base. |
