"Assessing current climate-related policies impacts on GHGs emissions changes: a model linking strategy for Switzerland."
by Chateau, Jean

Abstract
The paper presents the modelling methodology and preliminary (non-official) results for Switzerland in the context of the Inclusive Forum on Carbon Mitigation Approaches (IFCMA) initiative. The IFCMA is the OECD’s initiative “to help optimise the global impact of emissions reduction efforts around the world”.
The first part of the paper is informative, it discusses the broad modelling strategy envisaged for the IFCMA. The second part of the paper presents the construction of the reference projection for the modelling assessment for each IFCMA member countries. Finally, the last part of the paper presents some preliminary results for the Switzerland Pilot study. The BU part of the analysis is done with a version of the JRC EU TIMES model managed by PSI. The paper explains how the resulting emission impacts and the changes in prices and quantity from the TIMES model are transmitted and reproduced in the OECD ENV-Linkages model. As far as possible policies (or policy package) are run one by one with the TIMES model and ENV-Linkages will adjust for each of them and not for all together. Then a comparison of BU and CGE assessment on emission will be discussed.
