"Labor Mobility Under the AfCFTA: A CGE Analysis of Macroeconomic and Sectoral Impacts in Eastern Africa"
by Zidouemba, Patrice Relouende and Gael Some

Abstract
The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) presents an opportunity to enhance intra-African trade and the free movement of people. This article analyzes the economic impacts of labor mobility in East Africa, a region rich in natural resources. Utilizing a computable general equilibrium model, the study demonstrates that this free movement promotes an efficient allocation of skills and optimizes resources, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of local enterprises. This results in an increase in domestic demand, exports, and an improvement in household welfare, stimulating regional economic growth
