Biography
LAURA PÁEZ works for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, based in Addis
Ababa, Ethiopia. She specialized on issues of investment policy, regional integration, international trade and trade negotiations. The author has conducted extensive research on the regulatory impact of financial services liberalization, regionalism in the Americas an Africa, foreign direct investment and trade liberalization, as well as poverty and Aid for Trade. In prior engagements, she has also worked for the Latin American and Caribean Economic System (SELA), as a consultant for the World Bank, lectured at the WTO Trade Policy Course and Latin American Universities.
