Biography
Ziv Chinzara is an Economist in the International Finance Corporation. He is in the Country Advisory and Economics Department of the MCT (Middle East, Central Asia, Turkey, Pakistan, and Afghanistan) region. His responsibilities include leading and contributing to economic monitoring in the countries and to WBG analytic, diagnostic, and strategic products, including the Climate Change Development Reports (CCDRs), Systematic Country Diagnostic (SCD), Country Partnership Framework (CPF), Country Private Sector Diagnostics (CPSDs), Development Policy Operations (DPO), IFC Country and Regional Strategies. He also supports investment teams in preparing project concepts, IRM documents, and board documents, and supports management to fulfill corporate demands. Before joining the IFC, he was an Economist in the Macroeconomics, Trade, and Investment (MTI) Global Practice of the World Bank, covering Zambia and Lesotho, where he co-led macro-fiscal analytics and policy dialogue. Before joining the World Bank, he was an Economist in the Macroeconomic Policy Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Ethiopia, where he worked on flagship UN reports and several analytical papers. Before that, he worked in academia in Australia and South Africa. Ziv has a PhD in Economics from the Queensland University of Technology (Australia) and a Masters in Financial Markets from Rhodes University (South Africa).
He has supported community development work, including at Physical Disability Australia, Grassroot Cricket in Australia, Youth Initiative for Community Development in Zimbabwe, the Future Community Foundation in Zambia, Students in Entrepreneurship in South Africa.
