"Agricultural Production Targeting in the GTAP Data Base: a Look Ahead" by Chepeliev, Maksym and Angel Aguiar Abstract One of the key features of the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) Data Base (Hertel, 1997) is the detailed representation of the agricultural sector. Since GTAP 4 Data Base, this includes 12 agricultural and 8 food processing sectors. Naturally, not all contributed input-output (IO) tables, which are used to develop the GTAP Data Base, have sufficient level of sectoral disaggregation and even if an IO table has the required level of sectoral representation, it may be outdated and thus in need for additional updates. These issues are addressed in two ways during the construction process. |
