"Irrigation policy and water efficiency in Egypt" by Mohammed, Abdelradi and Ruth Delzeit Abstract We study the impact of different water management tools on irrigation demand seeking to answer the question of the optimal use of water. We extend the single-country IFPRI model to measure the impacts of different water demand management instruments on the Egyptian economy as a whole and on agriculture in particular. The scenarios mimic the implementation of water quotas, and three different water pricing schemes in irrigation sector. |
