"Integrating dietary health, environmental and economic considerations into impact assessment of international trade agreements"
by Freund, Florian, Marco Springmann and Janine Pelikan

Abstract
Trade agreements, like the CPTPP agreement, are primarily implemented for economic reasons. However, they are increasingly scrutinised for their impacts on health and sustainability. Here, we analyse the dietary health, environmental, and economic effects of several existing trade agreements, condensing the impact to a single metric using a multicriteria approach, see Springmann (2024). With this we develop a taxonomy of trade agreements, which helps to identify trade agreements that perform relatively well and gives essential hints about best practices and possible ways to improve existing and future trade agreements.
