Curriculum Vitae - Felicia O. Olokoyo

Prof. Felicia Omowunmi Olokoyo is a Professor of Finance in the Finance Department, College of Management and Social Sciences, Covenant University, Nigeria. She was former Director of Entrepreneurship, Centre for Entrepreneurial Development Studies (CEDS), Covenant University, the immediate past Head of Department of Finance, Covenant University and currently serving as the Chair, Covenant University Committee on International Linkages and Collaborations. She is also appointed as the SDG1 Ambassador for Covenant University where she champions programmes and activities on ‘No Poverty’ Agenda. She was appointed as the youngest Professor in Covenant University in 2021.
She has an overriding goal to be the best at whatever she does. She graduated in 2003 from the University of Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University - EKSU), Ekiti State, Nigeria with a B.Sc. degree in Banking and Finance in the First-Class Honors Division. She got her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Finance both with distinctions from Covenant University with area of specialization in Corporate Finance. She has a penchant love for reading and researching. She has research interests in financial management, lending behaviour of banks, capital structure, corporate performance, corporate governance, large land-based investment (LLIs), household incomes and development finance. Based on the outcomes of her research in Corporate and Development Finance, she has contributed a lot to the industry sharing the knowledge gleaned from her numerous research endeavours. She has consulted for some investment companies in Lagos and Ogun States. She has also facilitated trainings for members of staff of the Ministry of Finance in Abuja with Apex Consulting Firm. She has trained MSMEs’ smallholders and artisans on appropriate and effective business finance to enhance their growth and sustainability. She is also a seasoned coach on entrepreneurship development. In August 2023, she was appointed as a Director to the Board of Pointone Microfinance Bank Ltd, located at Ojodu Berger, Lagos State.
She serves as a reviewer for several refereed journals in and outside Africa and also review academic manuscripts for several international conferences. She has authored and co-authored over 90 scientific publications and has presented conference/seminar papers in many countries of the world spanning five continents. Her contribution to the global scientific body of knowledge has been well-received and cited severally across the world's continents, with a Google Scholar H-index of 22, citations over 2620, ResearchGate H-Index of 16, citations of over 1560 and Scopus H-index of 9 and citations of over 460. Her current research interests include green and renewable energy financing, enterprise development and sustainable development. She has won several awards and grants.
She is a Fulbright Scholar and a State Alumnus. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), and an Executive Member of the Nigerian Society for Financial Research (NSFR). She is also a member of the American Finance Association (AFA), Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), the International Forum for Democracy and Peace (IFDP), the International Academy of African Business and Development (IAABD) and Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) among others. She has published in reputable refereed journals in and outside Africa. She is happily married and blessed with children.
