Biography
Curriculum Vitae - Jessika Bohlmann
Dr. Jessika Bohlmann is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Pretoria (UP) and Deputy Director of the DSI/NRF SARChI Chair in Just Energy Transition. She is also currently Managing Editor and Special Issues Editor of Elsevier’s Energy Policy journal. Previously, she was appointed as Research Specialist in the Dean’s Office in the Faculty of Economic and Management Science at UP, and has completed contract work for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP). Dr. Bohlmann is also serving on the Council of the Economic Society of South Africa (ESSA) and the South African Association for Energy Economics (SAAEE). Her academic and contract work has mainly focused on energy transitions, environmental policy, and youth unemployment, using both computable general equilibrium and econometric modelling methods. Dr. Bohlmann holds a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University and a PhD from the University of Pretoria. She has also completed an Advanced Certificate in Emerging Markets and Risk Analysis from Fordham University, Certificates in Single-Country Regional and Dynamic CGE Modelling from the Centre of Policy Studies, and a Certificate in Dynamic GTAP Modelling from Purdue University.
Dr. Bohlmann’s academic and contract work has mainly focused on energy and environmental policy, and sectoral economic impact analysis using both computable general equilibrium and econometric modelling methods. Dr. Bohlmann holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Pretoria, and a Bachelor of Economics from Monash University. She has also completed an Advanced Certificate in Emerging Markets and Risk Analysis from Fordham University, Certificates in Regional and Dynamic General Equilibrium Modelling from the Centre of Policy Studies in Melbourne, Australia, and the Dynamic GTAP course at Purdue University in the United States.
