Biography Curriculum Vitae - Elke Costanti Elke U. Costanti is currently a researcher and PhD student in the field of Environmentaal Economics at the University of Brasilia. She has being part of the Transformation Thinkers network since 2005. For the last 20 years Elke has being working with international cooperation for development, especially in environmental related themes such as deforestation and climate change. Elke’s academic background includs a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and a specialization in Economics focused on environmental management. Her fields of work and research are related to sustainable economic development and conservation of the environment. Previous work experience includes positions in the Brazilian Government, both at the Ministry of the Environment and at the Ministry of External Relations. After ten years in the Brazilian Government she left to act as an independent consultant in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of development projects. Also, she has work experience in the United States Government, where she acted as an Environmental Officer for the Agency for International Development. Therefore, she is familiar with development strategies, international negotiations, good governance practices, policies debates, international aid guidelines and environmental issues in Brazil. |
