Biography
Vincent Aussilloux is economist at the UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on secondment from the European Commission since January 2009. Before then, he was a member of the Chief Economist Office in the Directorate-General for Trade of the European Commission, a responsibility that he hold since 2004. He holds a Master's degree and a PhD in Economics from the University of Montpellier 1 both directed by Christian Montet. He has first worked as an academic at the University of Montpellier and then at the Paris-based school of Sciences Po where he was teaching Fundamentals of trade and trade policy in a programme directed by Pr. Patrick Messerlin. From 1998 to 2003, he was an Economic Advisor in the French Ministry of Economy and Finance where he was in charge of analyzing trade, investment and trade policy issues. He has also done himself or participated in a series of publications, focusing on FDI, anti-dumping, FTAs, EU-China trade and other trade policy matters.
