Biography
Ismaël Fofana is a research fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington D.C., USA. He was the head of IFPRI West and Central Africa Office between 2013-2017 in Dakar, Senegal. He worked between 2001 and 2010 as a researcher for the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) at Laval University in Quebec, Canada. Ismaël holds a Ph.D. in Economics from “Université de Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne” in France, and a Master in Economics from Laval University in Canada. Ismaël research work focuses on food and energy policies. His area of expertise is on the strategic economic planning in such a way issues of growth, poverty, energy and food security are better understood.
