Travel Funding Opportunities
The following travel funding opportunities were available to those with a paper accepted into the conference program. Individuals interested in being considered for the travel funding reimbursement opportunities detailed below must indicate so on the abstract submission form. In order to be considered, individuals must:
  • be early career researchers within five years of the start of their research careers. This normally means that they have been awarded a PhD or equivalent research doctorate in the past five years.
  • be active in undertaking applied model-based analyses of real world problems using GEMPACK, GAMS, and/or related software. Those seeking to extend existing tools available to CGE modellers will be given special consideration.
  • upload their CV and the finished version of their paper on the abstract submission form
Selection of those receiving travel reimbursement funds will be determined by an assessment panel consisting of a designee from the donor (CoPS or GAMS), a GTAP Center designee, and a senior individual from the Conference Program Committee.

Travel reimbursement will cover the basic costs associated with attending the GTAP Conference. Funding is independently provided by the Centre of Policy Studies, Victoria University (Pearson funds) and the GAMS Development Corporation (Meeraus/Rutherford funds), up to a pre-determined maximum. The Center for Global Trade Analysis will fund the cost of each recipient's registration. Those receiving travel reimbursement funds will be required to make their own arrangements, paying all expenses up front, and then submit receipts to the Center for Global Trade Analysis for reimbursement following the conference. The following items will be reimbursable; however, U.S. taxes may be withheld from the final reimbursement.
  • Airfare (Economy class)
  • Accommodation (4 nights)
  • Standard visa fees (if applicable)
  • Ground transportation
