Biography
José E. Durán Lima, currently Economic Affairs Officer of the Division of International Trade and Integration at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbeans (ECLAC). Formerly, Expert of the Unit on Investment and Corporate Strategies of the Division of Production, Productivity and Management, at ECLAC. (1998-1999). Ph.D. in Economics from the Barcelona University, at Spain. Associate Professor, Catholic University Raúl Silva Henriquez, Chile (1998-2002). Visiting Fellow, ECLAC/UNCTAD Joint Unit of FDI and Transnational Corporations. Lawyer and Economist from Vicente Rocafuerte University and Guayaquil University, respectively, both at Guayaquil, Ecuador.

More than 15 years as researcher and consultant with track record of several published papers, contributions in several chapters in two main ECLAC flagship (Foreign Investment in Latin American and the Caribbean —1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999— and Latin America and the Caribbean in the World Economy –from 2000 to 2013)

Research areas of particular interest: Regional Integration, International Trade, Trade Patterns, General Equilibrium Models.
